Well, this shoot was quite tough for Xiaoyu. Our client was curious on how a blackout and subsequent wakeup look like under extraordinary circumstances: when Xiaoyu is standing, has no air in her lungs, and cannot breathe at all. X-cross and film dressing have been chosen for this purpose. Before we actually went for the “research”, we bound Xiaoyu to a chair and covered her nose and mouth with film dressing under different durations, from short to long, three times in total, in order to warm her up. Next we stood her to the X-cross and covered her airway with film dressing for three times again, asking her to keep full lungs, half lungs, and empty lungs of air, respectively, in order to adapt her body and mentality gradually to the extreme conditions of no air and no breathing. Finally she was ready for the last round. She knew that she would blackout for the first time by film dressing covering her nose and mouth, and she knew that that might be very painful. The fact is, that was even more painful than what she thought. After she breathed out air in her lungs and got her airway covered, she held her breath actively for more than a minute. There were a few contractions but in general she was still under control. However, once she can’t suppress the urge to breathe, things started to go wild. She can’t help sucking in void harder and harder, and the negative pressure made her lungs burning and a drumming in her ears. We didn’t plan to make and release any videos at first, so we just recorded many exciting scenes with our mobile phones. However, under the enthusiastic encouragement from many fans, after a month of procrastination, we finally compiled two videos… Continuing from the first half of the adventure, Yaoyao wanted to have a breathplay competition with Xiaoyu. Between each apnea she can breathe for 10 seconds only. Session 2: The nose clip was kept on her nose and a small hole was poked in the film dressing to allow Xiaoyu to breathe. A piece of black bondage tape was used to cover the small hole, and she was asked to speak the alphabet from A to Z before the black tape can be removed for a while. This was repeated in 10 minutes. Session 3: The swim cap is removed, and the hole in the film dressing was stretched bigger to make her breathe more easily. A plastic bag was used for breathplay. The bag was soft and often stuck to her face when she was inhaling, leaving her breathless even though there was still fresh air in the bag. This session was again for 10 minutes. Session 4: Another 10 minutes session, with the soft bag replaced by a breathplay hood without breathing holes. After several times she was pushed near her limit at the end, and she even moved the chair she bound to during her struggling. At the end of the video some chat is recorded. She was quite happy with the sessions and liked the breathplay hood much better than the soft bag.

Xiaoyu was lying prone and wearing a Japanese one-piece school swimsuit and freediving gear: a vintage oval mask, a snorkel and fins. The mouthpiece of the snorkel was fixed to her mouth by bondage tape, so that she can only breathe through the snorkel. Then I use black electrical tape to seal the opening of the snorkel to force Xiaoyu to practice breath hold. Her hands were bound behind her back by bondage tape in the second half of the video.
